a thousand petals, a thousand paths

The following is a list (in no specific order) of stories I’ve found to be truly well-written, with tight concepts, moving plots,
and that certain soupcon of the extra-special.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

.:.

Paddy’s Trade-offs:  “Jack’s fast succumbing to darkness and despair as an Iraqi POW, until hope arrives in the form of an unlikely savior.”  (NC-17, au, h/c, h/c - emotional, dark, intense situations, violence. Jack/Daniel)

.:.

Anais’s Dr. Jackson’s Diary: Written a la “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” this is a full year in the life of Daniel Jackson. Hilarious, sharp, intelligent, and did I mention, hilarious? Always good for a laugh, or for comfort. (NC-17. Jack/Daniel, Daniel/Paul, Sam/Siler, etc. etc. And beware the Slap My Bitch Up Santa.)

.:.

Kalimyre’s Hook: “When Daniel comes back from being held prisoner off-world, the damage goes far deeper than the physical. This is the story of his recovery.” (NC-17, drama, angst, h/c, established relationship, violence, non-con, torture. Jack/Daniel, team.)

.:.

Kalimyre’s Perspicacity: “Jack is given a gift of great value. He just doesn’t know it yet. This is a take on that classic fandom cliché, alien induced telepathy. Sort of.” (R, first time, angst, language. Jack/Daniel.)

.:.

Joolz’s Solitudes Touching: “Sometimes it takes time to see what’s right in front of you.” (R, pre-slash, friendship, angst, h/c . Jack/Daniel.)

.:.

Fairyglass’s Reaching For: Has a song really ever struck you as being “just so Daniel”? The lyrics, the melody, the beat - something that really captures a quality, a moment, of Daniel Jackson for you. This story was inspired by the Guillemots’ “Who Left the Lights Off, Baby?” (R, pre-slash, angst, UST. Jack/Daniel, alluded-to Sam/Jack.)
